Hello it is not really a problem but rather a request.
I have directorynumbers that are part of the internal dailplan with site code and extension and I added the alternative E164 number in a different partition . I started now with new sites to use the E164 number as a primary DN and adding an alternative enterprise number to the same partition as the previous mentioned DN's.
For these early sites I'm looking an easy way to switch the DN with the E164 for each phone.
Any good idea's? I would love to have a Python/Powershell script to help me in this project.
Interesting question.
Were you thinking of using bulk for that or API?
I have recently written a script in Python to change the voice mail dialplan (Microsoft stopped supporting VM in Exchange) and that was a big success, I was just wondering on how to do that with the DN it self.
Not sure I have enough details or that I understood what exactly you are trying to modify for these sites.
You have mentioned that you already have e164 for the new ones?
Anyway, I guess there is a logic, like for the number 200888 first remove '200' then add 1800600 prefix so that the final number will be 1800600888
does that sound right?
I also presume that you are going to use BAT export import to accomplish this?
If the logic is simple you can easily do that with notepad++ or excel which allows replacing function with regex.
If not, you'll have to elaborate a bit more on what is it exactly you are trying to achieve here with some examples 🙂
I have on the Old sites:
DN= 812323456 in Extension partition and an alternative E164 Number in GlobalE164 Partition
and I want to change that into:
DN= \+3216123456 in GlobalE164 partition and an alternative enterprise Number 812323456 in Extension Partition.
So both numbers already exist in the system but I want to switch them from position to be consistent with the Cisco recommendations.
Got it.
Call me old fashioned, but I would use BAT export, copy the columns from one to another and import it back.
It's just 4 columns and requires a relatively simple copy, right?
